
A suspect has been apprehended in connection with a shooting that occurred at 2205 Russell Street yesterday, resulting in a victim being hospitalized in critical condition. The Houston Police Department has charged Brandy Pointer, 42, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as reported by City of Houston News.
Following the incident around 11:25 a.m. yesterday, HPD patrol officers discovered the 21-year-old victim with a gunshot wound. Witnesses at the scene provided evidence that ultimately implicated Pointer in the shooting. Being critical, paramedics swiftly transported the victim to the hospital, according to the investigation led by HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective D. Spears and described by the news release.
Pointer was found by officers close to the scene and was detained without incident. In cooperation with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the officers' consultation resulted in Pointer's arrest and the filing of charges. The specifics of the altercation that led to the shooting have not been released at this time.
