In a move that marks a significant expansion for In-N-Out Burger, the company has initiated construction on its forthcoming eastern territory office in Franklin, Tennessee. The popular burger chain, known for its presence primarily in the western United States, is planting its regional roots with a 100,000-square-foot facility off Interstate 65 next to Berry Farms. In addition to the office, the company also has firm plans to introduce its fast-food service to the Tennessee public, with the initial outlets set to begin operations in Nashville by 2026.
At a groundbreaking event, Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson, the owner and president of In-N-Out Burger, expressed excitement about the new venture. "This is a historic day for In-N-Out Burger. Breaking ground on this beautiful property is the first step in putting down roots in the state of Tennessee," she stated in a report from WSMV.
The move is not just an expansion of their physical footprint, but also a foray into new territory that promises to create approximately 277 jobs in Williamson County, as announced earlier by Governor Bill Lee, and as reported by WKRN.
The Franklin office site is located at 1948 Double Double Drive, a naming choice that pays homage to the year the company was founded. Details mentioned by Rob Howards, vice president of Technology and Business Operations, hint at a blend of California-Spanish and Tennessee architectural styles for the building. Howards revealed the information during the ceremonial event, as specified in a news report by Silicon Valley. The inclusion of both stucco and brick in its design seeks to marry the chain's West Coast origins with its new Southern surroundings.
Capturing the essence of this milestone, Snyder-Ellingson voiced her affection and anticipation for the project. "I love you guys, and I know this is going to be huge for In-N-Out. And it won't be very hard to find family-friendly people to hire here," she was quoted during the event in a statement obtained by Silicon Valley. The Tennessee site will soon see its first restaurant opening at 1951 Double Double Drive, another nod to the chain's heritage, this time commemorating the birth year of Snyder-Ellingson's father, Guy.
The expansion underlines In-N-Out's growth trajectory, with the chain currently boasting over 408 outlets across eight states. Restaurants in New Mexico and Washington are on the radar as well, with Tennessee ranked as the soon-to-be tenth state in the company's portfolio, Snyder-Ellingson intimated during the groundbreaking.
