The Sloomoo Institute, a popular interactive slime museum, is set to open its doors in Los Angeles on September 8th. Known for its imaginative take on sensory and wellness experiences, the New York City-based brand has expanded to multiple cities since its 2019 inception, sprawling now to Chicago, Atlanta, and Houston.
Positioned across from The Grove at 157 Fairfax Avenue, Sloomoo's latest endeavor promises a dopamine-boosting adventure that crosses the borders of touch, sound, scent, and sight. According to What Now Los Angeles, guests can walk on over 500 gallons of cloud slime and be slimed under the aptly-named Sloomoo Falls.
As featured in the Blooloop announcement, the new 13,000-square-foot space will also offer a DIY slime bar with over 4 million unique combinations for visitors to create their own slime. Tentative to ignite joy and inspiration, Sloomoo will also include a giant slime slingshot and various immersive and interactive video installations.
Accessibility and inclusivity are key aspects of Sloomoo's mission, offering employment opportunities to neurodivergent individuals and creating culturally inclusive spaces. Sara Schiller, the co-founder of Sloomoo Institute, told Blooloop, "Angelenos who are differently abled deserve work opportunities and cultural spaces that bring them from the margins into the active society center." The LA branch is projected to create over 150 jobs.
