A K9 unit played a pivotal role in capturing theft suspects in Harris County. On Tuesday, a trio of male suspects involved in a vehicle wheel theft were confronted by a witness, who reported that one of the individuals brandished a firearm at him. Following the incident, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office responded swiftly to the scene at the 7100 block of Foxbrick Lane.
The suspects fled into the surrounding woods, setting the stage for a pursuit. With the deputies on their heels, one suspect was promptly apprehended, identified as Thaz Wright. Meanwhile, to tighten the net around the remaining two, a police perimeter was established. It was reported by Precinct 4's official Facebook page that Constable Canine Mitch was instrumental, in tracking down the last two suspects, who were later identified as Dorell Lindsey and a 16-year-old juvenile.
As the case developed, more information came to light regarding the items found in the possession of the apprehended suspects. Both Lindsey and the juvenile were found with loaded firearms at the time of their capture.
Constable Mark Herman spoke about the arrests, detailing the charges against the individuals involved. In a statement obtained by the precinct's social media, "The juvenile male was arrested booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center, charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Theft. Thaz Wright and Dorell Lindsay were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Theft. Their bond has not been set at this time of the 487th District Court and County Court 9."
