Baltimore's local bakery scene is set for an expansion, with Kneads Bakeshop & Café announcing the opening of its fourth location. Nestled in The Shops at Canton Crossing, the new bakeshop will add a fresh aroma to 3601 Boston Street this Fall. According to a WMAR2 News report, the family-run Paterakis business is leveraging its lineage from Baltimore's H&S Bakery to launch "next gen" eateries around the city.

With a twist on the traditional bakeshop model, Kneads aims to blend the worlds of café and coffee house, offering breakfast and lunch menus. As reported by WMAR2 News, they are seeking a liquor license in hopes of introducing brunch cocktails to their service line. Although the official opening date remains nebulous, the proprietors anticipate the launch to be "in the coming months," aligning with another outpost expected to open at Cross Keys this Winter.

Speaking to the endeavor's community-driven focus, Kneads co-owner Kira Paterakis stated, per FOX Baltimore, "When we heard the space was available, we jumped right on it. It was a pleasure to work with the Sapperstein family. We can’t wait to meet our Canton customers and be the new daytime “hang out” spot." Paterakis highlighted that in a post-pandemic era, Kneads is encouraging remote workers to use the space as a work haven, with ample room for laptops and extended stays.

As part of the culinary offerings, the menu will replicate many of the items available at their Harbor East location, as co-owner Adam Paterakis shared in a conversation. After opening, they also plan to serve brunch cocktails, with the addition of an espresso martini.
