
In a chilling incident of sexual assault on a juvenile, Southwest Sheriff’s deputies received a distressing call late Sunday night on August 12, 2024, leading to the recent apprehension of a 31-year-old La Puente man. The victim disclosed the assault while receiving treatment at a local hospital, the reported crime occurring in the area of Winchester Road in Temecula.
According to a statement released by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the suspect, Andrey Raymundo Tovar Serrato, fostered a relationship with the victim through an online platform using it as his medium for initial contact; he then pursued a connection for explicitly sexual purposes. Following the report, investigators pursued leads intensely over two weeks to establish Serrato’s identity hence making an arrest.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department further informed that on August 27, Serrato was detained in La Puente by authorities and subsequently booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center. He faces various charges, including multiple sexual crimes and the furnishing of cannabis to a minor.
