Lake Havasu City has witnessed a recent surge in graffiti incidents, but the local Police Department's Street Crimes Unit made a headway with the arrest of a suspect believed to be behind the vandalism. In a statement obtained by the city’s official website, authorities identified 26-year-old Adam Clark as the alleged perpetrator, connecting him to three separate acts of defacement across the downtown area.

According to the report, Clark allegedly left his mark on various cityscape features including trash cans, electrical boxes, and wash drains, also scaling new challenges using ladders for out-of-reach places. His run of uncommissioned art ended when, on September 13, officers pulled over his vehicle near Mulberry Avenue and McCulloch Boulevard North and the traffic stop, unfolding at 7:52 p.m., not only snarled Clark but it also turned up cans of paint, markers, and graffiti art resembling the downtown tags.

Subsequent to the investigation, Clark faced 16 counts of making graffiti under the LHC City Code and two counts of trespassing. The charges which culminated in a $45,000 cash bond, as per an announcement from Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, a Public Information Officer.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department urges the community to remain alert and to report any suspicious activities or information regarding graffiti incidents, options include contacting the police directly at 928-855-1171 or anonymously through Lake Havasu Silent Witness at 928-854-TIPS (8477), and even through the convenient HavasuNOW App for those inclined towards digital correspondence, citizens are empowered to aid in maintaining the city’s aesthetic integrity.
