
Lauderhill police are on the lookout for an arson suspect following a fire that was set to vehicles in a residential area. The incident, captured on camera, showed an individual setting fire to two cars parked in a home's driveway along the 900 block of Northwest 34th Terrace. It occurred early Sunday morning around 4 a.m., when, according to Local 10, the suspect poured gasoline over the cars before igniting it.
Both vehicles were reportedly fully engulfed in flames when the fire department arrived. The suspect was described as wearing a light-colored hoodie and a backpack fled the scene immediately after setting the blaze. As per WSVN, the fast response of the Lauderhill Fire Department prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby occupied home, housing two adults who were unharmed in the incident.
Authorities are actively investigating the act of arson in cooperation with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area. They are seeking the help of the community for any information on the suspect, who remains unidentified.
