A League City man is under arrest and faces murder charges following the discovery of his wife's body during an eviction process. Charles McCoy Jr., 62, was taken into custody after police, responding to an eviction assistance request, found 63-year-old Susan McCoy dead in her home with fatal injuries.
According to Click2Houston, yesterday, the League City Police Department was called to the 100 block of Crescent Bay Drive to support the Galveston County Sheriff's Office with a writ of possession. Attempting to make contact with the residents, officers could not elicit a response from inside the property. Charles, found lying on the bedroom floor alongside the deceased Susan, had self-inflicted injuries but was still alive when discovered.
League City Police Department detectives, after their initial probe alongside the Crime Scene Unit, led to Charles McCoy Jr.'s arrest, as reported by Galveston News. The early investigations give little away on what incited such violence.
Initially treated by officers at the scene for his wounds, Charles McCoy was subsequently transported to a hospital for further treatment. Officers attended to his injuries until fire department personnel arrived to take over and transport him to a nearby hospital, Galveston News detailed the aftermath of the arrest. The bond for McCoy has been set at $150,000, and he is charged with the murder of his wife.
As the case is prepared for the courts, details of Susan McCoy's death and the motives behind it remain the subject of law enforcement investigation.
