Lebanon City's Fine Wine & Good Spirits will remain closed until further notice after a truck incident left the storefront severely damaged. ABC27 reported on the crash, which took place on Sunday when a driver while trying to park at the store located at 102 N 8th Avenue, suffered a medical episode that led to them inadvertently accelerating over the curb and into the establishment.
A statement from the city's police department, confirmed by reports from FOX43 and Local 21 News, revealed that no one was injured in this mishap, and alcohol did not play a role. The male driver's identity has not been disclosed, but officials have emphasized the accidental nature of the event due to the sudden medical issue that he experienced.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board promptly responded concerning the store's closure. "We encourage customers to shop at other, nearby Fine Wine & Good Spirits locations until a determination is made," a spokesperson for the board told ABC27. The store, which suffered structural damages, now awaits an inspection and necessary repairs before it can again welcome patrons.
In the meantime, the cleanup operation and restocking of the damaged goods have commenced. Authorities are also evaluating the condition of the store to ensure safety and operational integrity moving forward.
