A Lee Township man is facing a litany of charges, including criminal sexual conduct and aggravated child sexually abusive material, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office. Investigators from the Michigan State Police were tipped off in April about an individual actively involved in uploading and obtaining child pornographic content, officials report.

As indicated by a FOX 17 announcement, 33-year-old Casey Allen Letts was the suspect pinpointed after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted authorities. With 33 charges authorized by county prosecutors, Letts was arraigned on Sept. 10

The case came into the limelight after officials were made aware of frequent uploads and downloads of the illicit material by the aforementioned suspect, following which the Allegan County Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) took over the investigation. As reported by WOODTV, this led to Letts' identity becoming known to law enforcement.

In the wake of the investigation, which marshaled digital evidence pointing to Letts, the charges against him were solidified. These include using a computer to commit a crime, a fact highlighted by the sheriff's office and also noted in the WWMT coverage of the story. He has since posted a $30,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for his next court appearance on Sept. 26, with a preliminary examination set for Oct. 2.
