The playful yet purposeful event, titled Dunk A Cop for Charity, was recently announced as part of the town's Western Days festivities last Saturday. The aim wasn’t just to give residents a chuckle at soaking their local law enforcement officers and raising funds for Serve Lewisville, a community assistance organization.
The Lewisville Police Department invited the community to come with a donation, and in return, they got an opportunity to dunk a variety of officers who participated in the event, located next to the Lucha Libre Wrestling; no word on whether the masks stayed dry, but spirits were high, and the chances to dunk Chief Rollins himself were billed for 6 PM sharp.
The event times were set between 1 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., with a brief break before the evening session from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., ensuring plenty of time for townsfolk to take their best shot.
