A structure fire erupted at a home in Reseda last Saturday, leading to a swift response from the Los Angeles Fire Department. The incident was reported at 12:19 P.M. at 6666 North Baird Avenue. According to LAFD's initial alert, smoke was visible from a residential combination of one- and two-story buildings. No immediate details were provided regarding the potential cause or extent of the fire.
Firefighters managed to knock down the blaze in less than 35 minutes, as detailed in a follow-up report by Brian Humphrey of the LAFD. A total of 48 personnel worked to confine and extinguish the fire in the 2,100-square-foot home. During the incident, one civilian received on-scene medical evaluation from paramedics for an unspecified medical complaint, though there were no other reported casualties or injuries at the time.
An update from the LAFD, posted later the same day, revealed a 70-year-old female patient was assessed for minor complaints by LAFD Paramedics and subsequently released at the scene. Providing further relief, the American Red Cross was contacted to aid four displaced residents, who also benefited from immediate financial assistance courtesy of the California Fire Foundation's SAVE program. In the report issued via the LAFD website, officials stated that the fire's origin and cause were still under active investigation.
