With the project's completion, the thoroughfare on Trautwein Road is fully open to traffic, driving by the installation of the pedestrian railings while new traffic signals begin to operate. According to a statement from Hays County, these final touches were the culmination of a series of improvements, which included lowering the road profile for better visibility at the US 290 intersection and adding new retaining walls.
Local authorities have worked in tandem with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to execute this project, with the community's growing needs firmly at heart. The upgraded infrastructure signifies a major stride forward in terms of public safety and represents a proactive response to the escalating traffic demands of Hays County.

Specific enhancements along Trautwein Road have been listed as follows: a dedicated right turn lane from westbound US 290 to facilitate turns onto Trautwein Road, and the road has been lowered at its juncture with US 290 to grant improved visibility.
