Authorities have apprehended a man linked to a burglary at Wimberley United Methodist Church, thanks to surveillance footage that reportedly captured him in the act. The break-in, which occurred last week, led to the loss of several computers and Bibles, alongside extensive property damage.
In response to the early morning incident on September 9th, Hays County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the church around 6:30 a.m. following a report of criminal mischief. The investigation swiftly zeroed in on Timothy Grimmer, 38, after church personnel informed officers of the burglary and associated damage. According to CBS Austin, Grimmer appeared to unmistakably be the individual depicted in the surveillance video.
Grimmer was taken into custody nearby and now faces a state jail felony charge for burglary of a building. The Hays County Sheriff's Office Facebook post confirmed the arrest and notified that the accused's bond had been set at $5,000.
