The incident unfolded in the 4600 block of Rittiman Road, close to Interstate 35, with the San Antonio Police Department responding to the calamity at approximately 9:07 p.m., last Saturday. When authorities arrived, they found a 52-year-old man who had been shot and was unable to be saved by the attempted life-saving measures of Emergency Medical Services and police on the scene, eventually being pronounced dead on the patio where he fell.

Following the assault, the suspect fled on foot, leaving behind no more than a vague description and a trail of questions. The San Antonio Police immediately canvassed the area in search for the unidentified man, yet the assailant remains at large.
The ongoing investigation, led by the homicide unit of the SAPD, has collected approximately four to five shell casings from the scene of the crime, but the firearm used has not been recovered.
