Apollo, Armstrong County, became the scene of a targeted shooting event on Monday night when an unidentified assailant opened fire on three individuals. The attack happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 500 block of North 7th Street while the trio was seated outside of a residence, according to WTAE.

The gunfire interrupted what had been an uneventful night, striking a 27-year-old man who was subsequently hospitalized. Present during the incident were also a 47-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman who, by luck, escaped physical harm. The 27-year-old victim's injuries motivated the urgent intervention of health professionals, WPXI reported.

State police are investigating a shooting they believe was intentional. As of early Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the shooter is still unknown. Reports say three shots were fired from the porch where people were gathered.
