A man was shot and a woman assaulted in an incident that occurred in Seattle's North Beacon Hill neighborhood, authorities expressed yesterday. Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the Seattle Police Department responded to a shooting at the intersection of South Holgate and Mountain to Sound Trail. Upon arrival, officers found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso.
The area was quickly secured by police, allowing for emergency aid to be provided until the arrival of the Seattle Fire Department. The injured man was then transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable but serious condition. As the inquiry unfolded, officers came to discover that a 32-year-old woman also fell victim to violence, assaulted by the same suspect, a 53-year-old male. Thankfully, the woman's injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
The Seattle Police Department reported that the suspect fled the scene following the events, but his escape was brief. Officers assigned to a nearby event managed to quickly locate, identify, and arrest the individual. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center for an evaluation and is slated to be booked into King County Jail upon being cleared for incarceration.
