A man was shot at the intersection of West Florissant Ave and Riverview Blvd, according to St. Louis Metropolitan Police. The shooting happened at around 4 p.m. on September 25, reported by the SLMPD. The 28-year-old victim, who has not been named, was reported to have been waiting at a traffic light when suddenly a silver SUV pulled up next to his car. The occupant of the SUV, donned in a ski mask, opened fire, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds.
After the shooting, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and, as of the latest reports, remains in stable condition. With the gunman still at large, District 6 detectives are fervently working the case, looking into the details surrounding the unfortunate event that unfolded on that day. Playing out like a scene from a movie, the intersection was a crime scene, cordoned off with the yellow tape we've become all too familiar with.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking information from the public to assist with their investigation. The plea for witnesses or anyone holding information that could lead to the arrest of the shooter is urgent and earnest. "Anyone with information is asked to contact a District 6 detective at 314-444-0001," the department stresses.
In a bid to encourage people to come forward, assurances of anonymity and reward have been floated by CrimeStoppers. Rewarded might be those willing to shoulder the civic duty of shedding light on such dark corners of our community, as mentioned in their statement, "Anyone who wants to remain anonymous and/or is interested in a possible reward can contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477)."
