Authorities are intensifying their search for a man accused of a shocking daylight stabbing on a popular Boulder County trail. The incident, which left a hiker seriously wounded, occurred on the morning of Wednesday, with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office receiving the report at 7:46 a.m., according to KDVR. The attack took place on Chapman Drive at the Tenderfoot Trail, an area known for its open space and picturesque mountain views.

As detailed by Denver7, the suspect, believed to be roughly 60 years old and approximately 6 feet tall with gray hair, had previous encounters with the victim on the trail before he allegedly escalated to violence. He reportedly fled the scene up the Tenderfoot Trail towards the Realization Point parking lot after stabbing the victim.

Failing to locate the assailant despite the immediate deployment of multiple deputies and Boulder County Open Space & Mountain Parks rangers, there is growing concern as the man is thought to no longer be in the vicinity. The injured hiker was promptly taken to hospital with serious injuries, yet specifics concerning their current condition remain undisclosed.

An additional detail emerged regarding the suspect, he was last seen accompanied by a dog, described as a "small Terrier-type breed with trimmed, multi-colored fur," as KKTV reports.
