The manhunt for the teen accused of fatally shooting a Sonic Drive-In manager in San Antonio has expanded to include Austin as a possible location for the suspect. Adiah Damir Roberson, age 17, is wanted in connection with the murder of Daniel Shrewsbury, who was shot in the chest during an altercation over counterfeit money back in July, as per reports from KXAN.
Daniel Shrewsbury, the 33-year-old manager who was about to celebrate his 34th birthday in a week, was killed shortly after arriving for his shift when he learned Roberson had allegedly taken money from an employee, as detailed by KVUE. Upon attempting to take a photo of the suspect’s vehicle license plate, Shrewsbury was reportedly confronted and subsequently shot by Roberson, Police said.
According to KVUE, a co-worker of the victim, identified only as Carlos, detailed the events leading up to the fatal incident. The suspect had been involved in an initial dispute over fake money at the drive-thru and later entered the restaurant creating further disturbance. "If the girl would have never come in a second time, my friend would still be here," Carlos reflected in the shadow of the tragic loss of his colleague.
Anyone with information regarding Roberson's whereabouts is encouraged to contact Capital Area Crime Stoppers or the San Antonio Police Department directly, "San Antonio Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to felony arrests in this crime," stated SAPD, in a statement obtained by KXAN.
