Heads up, Mansfield residents and surrounding neighbors. It looks like the sky will be more than just stars and clouds this weekend—it's set to be alight with a Guinness World Record attempt. According to a post on the City of Mansfield's Facebook page, Sky Elements Drone Shows is aiming to set the record for the most remote-operated multirotor drones to quickly launch fireworks simultaneously this Saturday, Sept. 28, at 9 p.m. near Mansfield Sports Park, located at 500 Heritage Parkway S.
While expected to dazzle, the event does come with a heads-up warning about additional traffic. As attendants gather to witness the spectacle, local authorities urge the public not to park or stop in the streets. Doing so could create unnecessary and dangerous traffic situations, especially around the Sports Park. The 15-minute show is poised to capture eyes and minimize noise pollution, producing what organizers describe as primarily a light buzzing sound.
For those who want the whole immersive experience, the show's soundtrack will be broadcast over FM radio. Just tune into 88.9 FM to hear the music accompanying the visual effects. The synchronization of the two is poised to attempt to break a world record, an even more memorable event for those in attendance or watching from afar.
