Marin County is energizing its work scene with its first Marin County Electrification Career Fair, happening September 14th at the County Fairgrounds in San Rafael. It's an initiative co-sponsored by local energy provider MCE, aiming to illuminate pathways into the electric vehicle, home and building electrification, and renewable energy sectors, as per the County of Marin.

The fair, free to the public, will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM, offering attendees a chance to interact with potential employers and industry professionals. In a shift towards cleaner energy, Dana Armanino of the Marin County Sustainability Team underscored the need for such initiatives, telling the County of Marin, "If we are going to achieve our climate goals we will need to expand the electrification workforce, and this is a great first step."

Highlights include workshops to boost employment opportunities, such as "7 Ways to Crush Your Interview" and "Crafting Resumés for Success in the Electrification Sector." Issues of diversity and inclusion will also be addressed in sessions like "Empowering Women in Trades: Careers in Electrification and Beyond." Among the businesses participating are John Owens Services and IBEW Local 551, showcasing a range of organizations involved in the growing industry.
