The Memphis Police Department is currently on the lookout for two suspects involved in a gas station robbery that left an employee assaulted and several items stolen. The incident occurred at the Exxon station on South Third Street this past Tuesday morning, around 10 a.m.
According to the reports by Action News 5, two men approached the gas station, aggressively made their way behind the counter, and began assaulting the clerk. As the confrontation escalated, one of the suspects viciously punched and kicked the employee multiple times, eventually forcing the worker to the ground with a knee pressed to his back. During the struggle, the men demanded the employee to open the register.
The suspects were able to flee the scene with cash, tobacco products, lottery tickets, and personal belongings of the employee, including a phone and wallet. The getaway vehicle was described as an older model Infiniti sedan that presents a color-shifting hue — gold in appearance but shifts to green in sunlight. This detail was confirmed by FOX13, which also highlighted the car's distinct characteristics like a black front bumper and tinted windows.
Descriptions of the suspects have been released by the Memphis Police Department on Facebook: The first suspect is a black male, standing between 5’5” and 5’7”, with a thin build and a goatee, wearing a black hoodie, a grey T-shirt, and light-colored pants. The second, a black male, between 5’11” and 6’ tall with a heavy build, facial hair, and braids, was seen in a white T-shirt, light blue jean shorts, black socks, and black slides—and he walked with a limp. The police have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
