Meant as a day of respite for some and commemoration for others, residents should make a note of the changes to public services on this federal holiday. Essential functions such as garbage collection and public transportation will continue as usual.
According to a list published by Miami-Dade's official news portal, the closures include the Stephen P. Clark Center's Golden Passport office, the Lost and Found, and Contact Center, alongside all other County administrative offices. Libraries across the county and the Pet Adoption and Protection Center will also be closed for the day.
regular trash collection and public transport's Monday schedule will remain unchanged. Solid Waste Management services and Miami-Dade Transit, including Metrobus, Metrorail, and Metromover, will operate their regular weekday routines. Special Transportation Services (STS) will also continue to provide transportation for its clients as usual.
Boaters are advised to sign up for Miami-Dade Marina Alerts to receive timely information about boat ramp statuses, with boating safety tips are offered. Moreover, the local government reminds residents to exercise the Three A's of Crime Prevention: "Be Aware of Your Surroundings, Be Alert to Suspicious People and Vehicles and Avoid Dangerous Situations" to ensure a safe holiday environment for everyone involved.
