A Miami-Dade Police officer, who had been previously charged with a domestic violence injunction violation, finds herself in custody once again. This recent turn of events pertains to the alleged tampering with the electronic monitoring device — a GPS ankle monitor — mandated for her house arrest. Ajeskca Lucas, 46, was re-arrested under suspicions of this precise infraction, per official reports.
Details stemming from her initial arrest on September 10 showcase a troubling interaction between Lucas and her ex-girlfriend, who by then had already been granted an injunction for protection against the police officer. Following their shared domestic life until July 21, a temporary injunction was obtained two days later on July 23, which a judge later extended through August 9, 2026. Having Lucas knocking at her door on September 9, her ex-girlfriend furnished Ring doorbell-timestamped evidence. Local 10 reports it was this footage that eventually led to Lucas's arrest at her own house the following day.
The subsequent arrest for the GPS monitor incident occurred yesterday, with the authorities holding Lucas for tampering with the government-issued device. According to records, she attempted to remove the monitor while under house arrest constraints. As of the last update, Lucas was detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, her bond set at $3,500, as indicated by NBC Miami.
Lucas's history with the Miami-Dade Police Department spans 4 1/2 years, with her latest assignment being for the Hammocks District. Currently, Lucas has been relieved of her duties, per MDPD, yet she remains on the payroll pending the outcome of these allegations. Throughout the legal process which has unfolded since the first arrest, Lucas has invoked her rights, requesting legal representation.
