Miami is setting the stage for international football, with FIFA picking Hard Rock Stadium as one of the 12 venues to host the reinvigorated 2025 Club World Cup. In a tournament expansion that sees 32 elite clubs vying for the world title, Hard Rock Stadium will be where soccer giants and fans converge for what promises to be a tantalizing showcase of the sport's finest from June 15 through July 13, as reported by Secret Miami.
FIFA has cast a wide net across U.S. cities selecting locales such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., with the grand finale slated for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, according to details obtained by NBC Miami. However, the exact number of matches each stadium will host remains under wraps until December, when FIFA plans to reveal the group draw and the full tournament schedule.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino touted the 2025 Club World Cup as a milestone for club football, declaring, "This new FIFA competition is the only true example in worldwide club football of real solidarity and inclusivity, allowing the best clubs from Africa, Asia, Central and North America and Oceania to play the powerhouses of Europe and South America in an incredible new World Cup which will impact enormously the growth of club football and talent globally," in a statement reported by Secret Miami.
The tournament is set to feature a mix of established European clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, and power players from South America such as River Plate and Boca Juniors, with the list of qualified teams spanning several continents, reflecting the global appeal of the sport—a sentiment reinforced by NBC Miami's reveal of a diverse lineup including African, Asian, North and Central American, and Oceanian teams destined for the 2025 pitch. Miami prepares to host seven matches during the 2026 World Cup.
