The Fort Worth Police Department, in a significant community effort, has successfully located 7-year-old Karson Mallett, who was earlier reported missing. The young boy was found safe, as confirmed by the White Settlement Police Department via a Facebook post. Reportedly, he is in good spirits following the joint search operation that included FWPD's Air One and WSPD detectives. Community members, the Citizens on Patrol group, and the mayor played crucial roles in ensuring Karson's return.
The search began after the disappearance of Karson Mallett from an apartment complex on the 1800 block of S. Las Vegas Trail around 8:16 pm. Described as about 4 feet tall with short black curly hair, Karson was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt displaying a basketball player, black pants, and no shoes. It became a priority to quickly involve the Citizens on Patrol volunteers and law enforcement to effectively comb the area near S. Las Vegas Trail and the I.H. 30 service road.
In swift response to the alert, the White Settlement Police Department issued a call to action for anyone with information on Karson's whereabouts to contact authorities immediately. The FWPD took to the skies while WSPD detectives and volunteers worked on the ground, showcasing a multidimensional approach to locate the young boy.
The police thanked everyone who stepped forward in the search efforts. "THANK YOU TO ALL THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS, CITIZENS ON PATROL, AND MAYOR for coming out to help!!" stated the White Settlement Police Department in their Facebook post. This collective sigh of relief was undeniably felt throughout the community as a child was united once again with safety, due to the ample support of those who refused to look away in times of crisis.
