The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has reported the safe discovery of Lacaya Bell, a 34-year-old pregnant woman from Bexar County, who had been missing since September 18. In news that brings relief to her concerned family and community, Bell was located in Harris County, as stated by KSAT. The circumstances of Bell’s disappearance had caused considerable alarm, highlighted by the fact that the dedicated McDonald's employee, who had recently earned a promotion, had inexplicably not shown up for work since her disappearance, nor had she been in contact with her family.
An investigation had been underway after her vehicle was spotted in the Houston area, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office engaged in an extensive search following the report of Bell's mother, who expressed deep concern for the safety of her daughter and unborn grandchild before Bell was found the authorities and her family breathed a collective sigh of relief. According to KENS 5, Bell's mother, Sharon Montague, said that the last time they spoke, Bell was on her way to meet with her boyfriend who wanted her to reconsider their separation.
Montague spoke of her daughter's state prior to the disappearance, recounting that Bell had been upset and shaken by an unnamed incident at her workplace, "She was very upset and shaking," Montague said, "Her boss said that she was terrified for her life,"—a statement obtained by KENS 5. Now that she has been found, the details surrounding her disappearance remain limited but the primary concern for Bell's welfare appears to have been alleviated.
