
A serious collision occurred last night in Mission Valley West involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, which resulted in a 64-year-old male motorcyclist sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) Watch Commander's Log. The accident happened near the 4400 block of Taylor Street around 7:31 PM.
The report, published by the City of San Diego, indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling west on Hotel Circle South aboard a 2014 Suzuki motorcycle when he failed to stop at a red light and collided with a 2015 Toyota Prius. The Prius, driven by a 66-year-old male, was executing a legal left turn onto the I-8 on-ramp during the crash. Alcohol was reportedly not a factor in the incident.
The motorcyclist was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for a fractured pelvis. Fortunately, the injuries sustained in the crash are not considered life-threatening. The SDPD traffic units responded to the scene and will handle the ongoing investigation.
