A tragic incident unfolded on Transmountain Road in Northeast El Paso as 28-year-old motorcyclist Tyler Reardon succumbed to injuries sustained from a crash that occurred on the evening of August 31. According to the El Paso Times, Reardon lost control while riding and collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Impala stopped at a traffic light in the Parkland area.
Investigations by the El Paso Police Department (EPPD) pointed to excessive speed as a critical factor in the crash, which led to the motorcycle skidding across the roadway and ultimately impacting the stationary vehicle, a tragic series of events marking the fortieth traffic-related death in the city this year in comparison to fifty-three at the same time in 2023 as reported by KFOX-TV.
As KTSM reports, Reardon was riding against the curb, lost control over the rock landscape of the median, and despite wearing a helmet, was flung from his bike upon collision, he was declared dead at the scene. The occupants of the Impala involved in the incident did not suffer any injuries.
