
The Metropolitan Police Department has launched an investigation into a fatal shooting that took place in Southeast Washington, D.C., leaving a young man dead inside a residence, marking yet another chapter in the city’s ongoing struggle with gun violence. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 11, at roughly 10:06 a.m. on the 3700 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast, according to the MPD.
Upon their arrival after being alerted to the shooting, officers discovered 20-year-old Korey Glasker suffering from gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead at the scene, as detailed by the Metropolitan Police Department. Glasker hailed from Southeast, D.C., and his death punctuates the air with questions that beg for more than silence in response.
To track down those responsible and bring them to justice, the MPD has made an appeal to the public for information related to this homicide, reminding individuals that any tip could be crucial. The department continues to offer a reward, currently set at up to $25,000, for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the commission of a homicide in the District, a policy aimed at incentivizing community cooperation to curtail the cycle of violence.
