The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking help from the community to locate a suspect involved in a recent assault incident in Southeast Washington. According to a release published on the MPD’s website, the altercation took place yesterday at around 1:01 p.m. on the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
The suspect is reported to have assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim managed to get himself to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening. The police have not yet released details regarding the identity of the suspect or a description to aid community members in recognizing the individual. The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone who can to safely help identify the suspect to quickly forward any information, to help ensure the individual is caught and held responsible for their actions.
The MPD has provided several ways for individuals to relay any information they might have about the incident. Direct calls can be made to the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tips can be discretely sent to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. Incentives are also in place to encourage community participation. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
