Residents of Lido Key, Sarasota encountered a disturbing discovery, earlier yesterday—two co-workers found dead at a rental property in what is being investigated as mutual killings. The Sarasota Police Department, having swarmed the 700 block of South Boulevard of the Presidents, confirmed the deaths.
Local resident Sally Esser, found herself confronted with an unsettling scene close to home, "I didn’t hear anything, I live right next door. I was taking the trash out and that’s when I saw all the officers," she disclosed to FOX 13 News. The victims, identified by authorities as men aged 32 and 50, both partook in an unanticipated final confrontation, their identities withheld as officers continue reaching out to notify family members.
Monica Galeano-Bush, a spokesperson for the Sarasota Police Department, stated to the Herald-Tribune that the investigation remains ongoing and detailed information on the causes of death are not yet available adding that the two men "worked together and that all involved parties have been identified and accounted for."
According to the WFLA report, surveillance footage shows the victims embroiled in what appears to be an altercation within and outside the confines of the rental home, and while a knife was recovered at the scene, authorities have yet to unravel the exact nature of the deaths. Police emphasized that the two men were in Sarasota for work.
