Nashville experienced multiple pedestrian-related accidents last night into early this morning, with at least three individuals struck in separate incidents.

The first reported event, according to WSMV, involved a pedestrian getting hit by a Nissan sedan while attempting to cross the intersection of Trinity Lane and Brick Church Pike around 1 a.m.; the individual was hospitalized in serious condition but is expected to recover, amid the late-night collisions which tested the quick and solemn responses of the Metro Nashville Police Department.

In a similar vein, WKRN detailed a separate instance occurring just before the clock struck 1 a.m. on West Trinity Lane near Interstate 65 where a pedestrian was struck sustaining critical injuries leading to the closure and subsequent opening of the roadway some time around 2:15 a.m.

Completing the troika, Fox 17 reported that further pedestrian hits occurred at Castlegate Drive and Smith Springs Road, approximately around 6 a.m., and a third on 113 16th Avenue South which took place around 7:30 a.m., thus within a window of less than 12 hours, three separate pedestrians were hit which promptly ushers an inquiry into the scrutiny of pedestrian thoroughfares and the safeguarding thereof in these areas.

While the drivers involved in the earlier two incidents remained at the scene, and no charges are expected as per the initial reports, the status of the pedestrians' injuries were varied and, at the time of reporting, exact details on their conditions were not fully disclosed, with all known victims having been transported to receive medical care.
