Soccer fans should prepare their jerseys and mark their calendars. Nashville has been officially named a host city for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The matches will take place at GEODIS Park, the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States. According to a report from Nashville.gov, the announcement was made today, confirming the city's role in the event for the summer of 2025.

According to the same announcement, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell expressed his enthusiasm about being selected as one of eleven host cities worldwide. "We’ve had world-class soccer on our stage before, but never quite like this. I’m so excited for our passionate soccer fans, and we can’t wait to welcome the world’s best teams to Music City,” he shared. Spread across almost a month, from June 15 to July 13, the event will see 32 teams clashing in 62 matches.

Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre is also gearing up for the 2025 soccer festivities. "This tournament will bring the world’s best clubs to Nashville, showcasing our stadium, our city, and our passionate fanbase on a global stage," Ayre told Nashville.gov. He emphasized the importance of this moment in amplifying the sport's growth in the United States and solidifying Nashville as a prime locale for premier soccer events.

Even off the field, Nashville is preparing to warmly welcome the soccer fans expected to visit in 2025. Deana Ivey, President & CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitor’s Corp, shared her excitement about hosting the global soccer community "We are beyond thrilled to host FIFA Club World Cup games in Nashville and are ready to deliver an unforgettable experience for soccer fans around the globe," she told Nashville.gov.

The clubs competing on the pitch at GEODIS Park will represent the top ranks from each of the six international soccer confederations. Participation in the FIFA Club World Cup is determined by sporting merit earned over four years, honoring the champions and consistently strong performers from each continent. The world champion will be crowned on July 13, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in New York.
