Deever, a resident of Needles, was apprehended near Washington Street and Park Avenue after fleeing the scene of the incident on the 1000 block of Earl Court.
According to a press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to the disturbance call around 11:14 a.m., Sunday, September 8, 2024. On arriving they, found that the suspect had already left the area. After a search, deputies located Deever and arrested him without further incident. He was subsequently booked into the Colorado River Station jail on charges including PC 273.5(A) - inflict corporal injury/felony spousal abuse, with his bail set at $50,000.
The victim's identity has been withheld, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with typical protocol for incidents of this nature.
