For New Braunfels residents, the upcoming week promises to bring several interruptions to the usual traffic patterns as Union Pacific has scheduled maintenance work, leading to temporary railroad crossing closures.
From tomorrow, September 21, through Tuesday, September 24, three crossings will be out of service, with closures scheduled from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. While this timeline is subject to change, the City is advising motorists to plan ahead for smoother travel. The closures will begin on Saturday with North Walnut Avenue, so drivers who typically use this route will need to find an alternative.
According to an announcement on the City of New Braunfels' official website, Wald Road is next up on the maintenance agenda, set for closure on September 23. Following this, North Live Oak Avenue will round out the scheduled work on September 24. Union Pacific emphasizes the importance of these maintenances to ensure the continued safety and reliability of their services.
