
Quick action marked the scene at The Miami Outboard Club on Saturday morning when a boat caught fire. According to NBC Miami, firefighters arrived at 10:11 a.m. to find a 39-foot open fisherman boat with smoke emerging from the cabin. No one was injured, and the Miami Department of Fire-Rescue performed a prompt foam operation, effectively extinguishing the fire and preventing damage to nearby vessels.
Aiding the efforts, "Immediately, The Miami Fire Boat and The Miami Hazardous Material Team conducted a foam operation quickly extinguishing the blaze and protecting all other vessels from fire extension," reported the Miami Department of Fire-Rescue. After arriving on the scene, the boat's owner provided information, but the cause of the fire was not clear. Protected by the quick response of firefighters with foam and due diligence, the scene was secured without injury or further incident, as per NBC Miami.
The incident took place at the marina located on 1099 MacArthur Causeway. The causeway itself was not affected by the incident and continued to operate as usual. As WSVN reports, the boat blaze drew the attention of City of Miami Fire Rescue units just after 10:10 a.m. The fire department's quick control of the fire was critical in a location surrounded by water on one side and a bustling causeway on the other.
The fire at The Miami Outboard Club was quickly controlled with foam, and the cause is still being investigated.
