Residents of North Bend were rattled by overnight burglaries in two occupied homes this Sunday. The incidents were marked by an unsettling absence of confrontation between the suspect and homeowners, with the perpetrator still at large, as reported by the City of North Bend.
The first call came in early Monday morning at approximately 6:10 a.m., alerting the police to a ransacked home on the 1300 block of Bandara Avenue SE, within the Tannerwood neighborhood. The resident, having spent the night on the second floor, descended to discover the chaos. Subsequently, a second burglary was reported less than a mile away on the 13700 block of 463rd Avenue SE in the Wood River neighborhood, where a security app notified the homeowner of his open garage door at 1:00 a.m. The garage, left vulnerable, was searched through as the household slept inside.
In the same vicinity, there were five additional car prowl incidents. According to the City of North Bend, these thefts included several garage door openers and a .40 caliber handgun. Surveillance footage from a neighboring residence's security camera became key in linking the burglaries to suspects driving a newer Dodge Ram pickup truck, although their identities remain obscured, along with the vehicle's license plate.
