
A firefighter was hospitalized after courageously fighting a house fire in North Huntingdon Township last Saturday evening. The emergency call to the 1200 block of Reed Street came in at approximately 10:07 p.m., as reported by WPXI. Smoke was seen filling the residence, and a noticeable hole was burned through the siding. In a valiant effort to quell the blaze, firefighters were forced to cut holes into the structure's roof.
As the situation unfolded, one firefighter succumbed to the grueling conditions and had to be taken to the hospital due to heat exhaustion. According to CBS News, the firefighter's identity and condition remain undisclosed.
There has been no official word on any other injuries or on what might have sparked the conflagration. However, the fire is actively under investigation to determine its cause. Despite the damage to the residential property, there was no immediate information available about the well-being of the occupants at the time of the fire.
