Violence disrupted the peace at Pacific Harbor Campground in Oceanside early yesterday morning, resulting in the stabbing of two individuals. The Oceanside Police Department was called to the scene at around 2:15 am, at 1450 N. Pacific Street, after receiving reports of the incident. According to the police department's Facebook report, upon arrival, officers found a female subject with a serious head injury and a minor stab wound on a Hispanic male juvenile's back alongside multiple abrasions.
The two victims were quickly attended by emergency services and taken to a nearby hospital, where they were both declared to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses at the scene provided videos of the event, which led to the identification and arrest of the alleged perpetrators. Bleeding from her head, the female victim was located lying on the ground by the authorities.
Detained about the stabbing were Jose Luis Talavera Galopino, born November 5, 1993, and Jocelyn Ignacio, born April 26, 2003, both charged with assault with a deadly weapon under California Penal Code section 245. They are currently being held in custody as the investigation proceeds.
The Oceanside Police Department's Crimes of Violence Unit continues to delve into the case, looking for additional information or context behind the violence that ensued. With multiple abrasions, the juvenile victim’s injuries were also tended to alongside the stab wound.
