
Tragedy struck Ocoee last Saturday night when a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident. The Florida Highway Patrol has reported that at approximately 10:44 p.m., on Ocoee Apopka Road south of Demastus Lane, a 25-year-old man from Ocoee was fatally hit by a vehicle while lying in the roadway, as reported by ClickOrlando. Sources confirm that the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the vehicle involved initially fled.
According to WESH, witnesses described the suspect's vehicle as a 2020 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, which was located later by Ocoee police officers in the vicinity. Strikingly, the truck had been towed to a secure storage area for further processing as part of the criminal investigation that is currently underway.
The Florida Highway Patrol is actively seeking information about the driver behind the wheel of the pickup truck. Investigators are treating this matter with the gravity of a criminal investigation, strongly urging anyone with knowledge of the circumstance to come forward.
