Early Monday morning, a shooting incident occurred near a North Hollywood Target store, which led to police officers firing at a suspect, according to KTLA. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the incident near Victory Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard shortly after 4:45 a.m.
A victim was found shot inside a blue SUV, with their condition not immediately disclosed. During the investigation, authorities encountered a masked individual who fired at officers and subsequently fled to the parking lot of the Target store, ABC7 reports. In the ensuing search, an officer discharged their weapon in the parking lot, and a man believed to be the initial shooting suspect was found down and unconscious.

The shooting investigation caused a brief disruption to the 170 Freeway, but the pathway has since been reopened.

Additionally, Laurel Canyon Boulevard was closed between Victory Boulevard and Hamlin Street, while Victory Boulevard was blocked between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and the 170 Freeway due to the incident.
