
A tragic incident on Lake Hefner Parkway in Oklahoma City has resulted in the death of a person after being struck by multiple vehicles. This harrowing event transpired Tuesday night in the southbound lanes, just north of 63rd Street, as confirmed by local authorities.
The chaotic scene forced a closure of the southbound thoroughfare, with traffic being at a standstill as investigators worked on unveiling the precise sequence of events. According to KOCO, the police reported that the individual, a son accompanied by his mother on the way to the hospital due to a mental health crisis, exited the vehicle after the mother pulled over, and was subsequently hit by at least five cars.
The victim's immediate identity has not been released, but the circumstances leading up to the tragedy have been partially outlined. As reported by News 9, the 40-year-old son was experiencing a mental episode, and in a state of agitation, he ran into the traffic where the fatal collisions occurred. Following the incident, drivers were asked to exit Lake Hefner Parkway at 63rd Street, as investigations continued at the scene.
