An early morning accident on Highway 94 has left one person dead and four seriously injured. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a Honda Accord, carrying five individuals, was involved in a single-vehicle accident near Defiance in St. Charles County. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. Friday, east of Howell Road.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver, a 22-year-old man from St. Peters, Missouri, lost control while trying to navigate a curve. This led the vehicle to veer off the road and overturn. KSDK reports that this mistake was fatal for one passenger and injured others in the car.
22-year-old Miranda Douglas of St. Charles was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and remaining passengers — a 21-year-old woman from O'Fallon, a fellow 22-year-old and a 23-year-old from St. Peters — were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
