Early Sunday morning in Clairton, a disturbance escalated into a shooting that resulted in the death of one man and injuries to two others. According to the WPXI report, the Allegheny County Police Department received calls about a disturbance at the intersection of State Street and Shaw Avenue at around 4 a.m. The altercation quickly descended into violence, police arriving found individuals brawling in the street. Gunfire erupted at approximately 4:10 a.m.
One of the victims managed to leave the scene after being shot, but later succumbed to his injuries when he crashed his vehicle on State Street — a harrowing final act that ended with his car overturned and a utility pole sheared near a Speedway gas station, according to WTAE's coverage of the incident.
The two other men who were shot, one in the arm and the other in the leg, were taken to hospitals and have been reported stable. In the immediacy of the investigation, police were able to detain an individual following the shooting, however, their involvement in the incident remains part of the ongoing inquiry.
