On August 27, a curious incident unfolded in Paisley, Florida, when Timothy Gunter, age 34, approached a Lake County deputy to request an unexpected service. Gunter, reportedly having just burglarized a home due to his apprehension of barking dogs, presented to the officer a bag of what he claimed to be unsatisfactory narcotics. According to ClickOrlando, he spontaneously expressed concerns that something was amiss with the substance and asked for the deputy to test it to be sure.
Before he explained what happened, the burglary victims identified Gunter, who flagged down a deputy and pointed him out down the road. As reported by Fox 35 Orlando, He was caught at an intersection where his story of criminal mischief and drug possession mixed. Gunter admitted he had entered the victim's home after being drawn by the noise of a dog before the police stopped him.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office announced on social media that the clear baggie found contained methamphetamine. Gunter told the deputy that something was wrong with his meth and that he thought the deputy should check it out.
The surprise encounter ended with Gunter’s arrest and an $18,000 bond at Lake County Jail. He faces charges of criminal mischief, possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, and unarmed burglary.
