
An incident in Pasadena's Rock Creek Park escalated into an arrest after a man drew a firearm following an altercation. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department press release, the event unfolded on September 24, when officers were called to the scene at approximately 10:45 a.m. following reports of an assault involving a weapon.
Upon arrival, police found that an altercation had occurred in which a suspect, identified as 38-year-old James Allen Barsy of Pasadena, Maryland, had aggressively approached a male and female, demanding that they leave the park. The confrontation quickly escalated when the 19-year-old male victim began to defend himself with a knife. This prompted Barsy to then brandish and point a firearm at the pair. The press release notes that Barsy was taken into custody, and the gun was confiscated.
The victims were not reported to have sustained any physical injuries during the confrontation.
