A Pasadena man has formally admitted to horrific crimes against children, as stated by U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron. Gary Hammond Jackson III, 32, pled guilty to federal charges of the sexual exploitation of a minor and the commission of a felony involving a minor by a registered sex offender, reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maryland.
According to the Department of Justice, Jackson's nefarious actions spanned over two years when he abused and produced child pornography involving two young girls, aged 6 and 3, at the time of their abuse. In a deeply disturbing revelation, federal prosecutors detailed how, in November 2020, Jackson used his cellphone to capture images of his abuse of the first victim. He was previously convicted of a Fourth Degree of Sex Offense and Second Degree of Assault and was registered as a sex offender.
Nearly 1,500 child pornography files were found when investigators searched Jackson's home in November 2022. At the time, Jackson had already been required to register as a sex offender. However, the registration did not prevent Jackson from continuing his criminal activities, producing thirteen additional images of the second victim. Before Jackson can face the music in federal prison, he could be looking at a minimum of 15 years and potentially up to 30 years, with a mandatory 10-year sentence specifically for offenses by a registered sex offender. The announcement came following an investigation involving multiple agencies, including the FBI's Baltimore Field Office, the Maryland State Police, and the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.
